IR GUIDE [PRE-ORDER]

It works! I was pleasantly surprised how much smoother I could get the job done. I mostly purchased it as I am doing multiple pairs of racing skis, and other family members skis in one session. But I quickly realized even for a one pair a session this is way easier and worth it. Well built and beefy unit.

I had to tweak my IR Waxer V1 to make it fit properly, but since then it’s made the whole process a lot easier.

Makes the task of ski waxing effortless and delivers phenomonal results. We tune several pairs of skis daily throughout the season and have enjoyed the ease of use of the IR waxer and the efficiency that it has provided and now continues to get better with the addition of the IR Guide.

I recently received the IR Waxing Guide. First impression is that this is solidly built, heavier than expected, and easy to assemble. Once setup, it made the process of waxing multiple skis exponentially easier. Being able to set the height a few inches over the ski base and just slide the waxer back and forth makes for precise heating with little effort.

The only downside is that it is a large (6 foot long) system and doesn’t break down easily for storage, so having a place to store fully assembled may be a challenge.

Very happy with this purchase.

Using the IR waxer without the guide is already pretty easy, but with the guide, you feel like you're getting that last 5% dialed just right. Even more true if you wax multiple skis at a time, it feels good to know that you're getting the type of consistency that you'd expect from a shop.

Assembly was easy.

Minor complaint is that it's not designed for convenient breaking down, so be sure you have somewhere to store it in its full length setup.

Great kit though, and I'd definitely recommend to anyone who waxes their family's skis.

due to some neurological issues, holding and using the ir waxer for long periods of time was possible, but difficult, for me. the ir guide makes waxing painless and precise. easy setup, no issues getting it working.

one caveat, and i could have done more research (i.e., actually read the specs): the bases of the guide, once set up, are much wider than i'd anticipated. i use a relatively small swix waxing table, and the bases of the ir guide are far too wide to fit on it. i would recommend a work area width of at least 50" minimum. 60" or more would be better. i've set up two stations for now, the guide on a second work table. i suppose another option would be to lay some plyboard across the waxing table to create more area. at any rate, the guide is nearly 7' long, end to end, so make sure you have adequate space. it's not difficult to disassemble and store the guide, but it's less portable than i'd hoped.

I am so glad these finally came in. It makes my IR waxing so much easier and consistent. Whenever I see metal tubes like that, I brace myself for wobblyness but this feels rock solid and smooth. If you have the table top space, you will not regret this purchase.

I would loved this product but parts arrived bent and the rollers have way too much slack in the middle section of the rails .. the IR waxer fits sloppy in the cradle as well, kinda flops around side to side when moving back and forth. Too bad because I looked forward to this product.

It still gets 5 stars because it pays for itself in the long run through wax savings, time savings, and more runs. Also saves my bad shoulders not having to hold the unit. It needs a few tiny washers on the bottom wheel-sets to make the cradle perfectly level, but we’re only talking about ~3mm. I crave consistency and this has taken my wax game to the next level. The only time anyone passes me is when I leave on the all-temp for a 10-degree day. Love this thing and I can’t wait until they come out with automation or some arduino fans figure it out.

To the guy complaining about not being able to use rotobrushes - that’s silly. I rotobrush outside with a p100 or better respirator because I’m not going to fill my basement and my lungs with wax dust. That’s part of why the Norwegian stands are great.

So we all use the IR waxer because it's fast and less messy, right? Because we're 'lazy'? Along that vein, I like to also use rotobrushes. Less work. Unfortunately, while the waxer can slide out of the way to work on my skis, the bottom rail is too close/the wrong height to allow me to rotobrush my skis after waxing. Minor issue, but definitely opportunity for improvement in a V2 version... thanks for launching this!

The guys at Mountain Flow have been so rad to deal with. As the only ski and snowboard service provider in Western Australia I service over average 300-400 skis and boards a year. As a one man band this has been an arduous task. When I found out about Mountain Flow over a year ago I hit them up about the IR waxer and they informed me they were creating a model to suit 220V power supply. Have absolutely loved the IR waxer and with the guide it has made the process seamless.

I received the IR guide yesterday. I have the blue handled IR device and had to remove the lower resting pegs to get it to fit better. Is the black handled IR device a different size to allow it to fit the tray better?
The system seems to work much better than using the IR device hand held. I may have to tweak the distance from the ski base a bit. What distance do you recommend ? I am currently using 2 inches Have haven’t used it alot yet. I’m using a brass, nylon and horse hair brush in that order which seems to work well Any suggestions from your end

Perfection! A must buy to compliment the IR Waxer.

Assembly easy. Quality good. Functions well, however Waxer does not fit well on the tray. I had to modify the tray to make the unit sit flat.

I was happy with the IR Waxer, now I’m thrilled with the guide, changes the game in using the IR waxer and makes it SO easy and consistent!

I love my IR waxer, and this guide makes it a lot more enjoyable to use.

The wheels/track are super smooth across the x-axis. The assembly was simple enough, and the overall adjustment height on the y-axis is foolproof. This is perfect for waxing skis.

My only complaint is that I wish the roller had a z-axis adjustment. I ride wide snowboards, and I have to constantly adjust and rotate the snowboards to get proper IR coverage.

Even with that complaint, it’s still worth the money, and I’ll be happy to use this tool every week this season.

The ir guide is an excellent and well constructed rail system for the ir waxer. It is much nicer to slide across than to hold up. Well thought out and great build.

I’ve had my waxer for a year & was elated when they introduced the guide system for the waxer. I just put it together & it saves tons of shoulder fatigue when waxing multiple pairs of skis. It’s sturdy & well made. I’ll be using it for years to come. I highly recommend the ir waxer and the waxer guide system. They pay for themselves immediately if you have multiple pairs of skis to tune.

I've had the IR Waxer for a little over a year and I love it. But, after waxing a few pairs of skis (I normally do all the skis for our family of 5), my arm started to get tired. I actually reached out to mountainFLOW last year to suggest this type of product. What they created exceeded my expectations. Pretty easy to assemble and super easy to use. The tray rolls smoothly and I like knowing that the waxer stays at a consistent height. Excited to wax up the fleet this year!
